How Invisalign® Teen Works
Invisalign® Teen works just like traditional Invisalign®. Patients will wear a custom Invisalign® Teen aligner at all times save for when eating, drinking, or sleeping. This will amount to roughly 22 hours a day.
After two weeks, a patient discards the previous Invisalign® Teen aligner and moves on to the next one in the sequence. The process repeats for a year to two years depending on the needs of the patient. At the end of the process, patients experience a straight and beautiful smile as if they’d undergoing traditional treatment with braces.
Good Candidates for Invisalign® Teen
Good candidates for Invisalign® Teen are teenagers who suffer from varying degrees of tooth misalignment. These patients would benefit from undergoing orthodontic treatment, and would prefer to avoid traditional braces if possible.
Blue Dot Indicator
The blue dot indicator is one of the features unique to Invisalign® Teen. This is a small blue dot that is placed on each aligner tray. After two weeks have passed, the blue dot will have faded. This is a helpful and simple reminded to move on to the next aligner tray.
Eruption Tabs for Any Incoming Teeth
Not all of your teeth may have come in by the time Invisalign® Teen treatment starts. That’s where eruption tabs are helpful. These eruption tabs allow incoming teeth to emerge and be properly aligned within the aligner tray. The eruption tabs essentially train the incoming permanent teeth into place.
Free Replacement Aligners (If You Need Them)
Accidents can happen. We understand. You might lose an Invisalign® Teen aligner while going about your day. For Invisalign® Teen and Invisalign® Teen only, patients can receive a select number of replacement aligner trays free from charge. This helps a patient resume treatment with as few setbacks or interruptions as possible.
